Training

There is a direct connection between the quality and safety of our program and proper training for our leaders. It’s vitally important that all leaders have the training they need, and we’re committed to providing the necessary support and resources to achieve that. Every Scout deserves a trained leader.

  • Adult leader training is provided at three levels:

    • Youth Protection Training. Youth Protection training is required for all registered volunteers and is a joining requirement. It must be taken every two years. The training is available on-line.  The training can also be delivered in-person.

  • Position-Specific Training. Every scouting position has training available specifically for that position. In order to be fully trained for your position, you need to complete the requirements described on the “Position Trained Requirements”

  • Supplemental Training. A variety of supplemental training courses are offered on-line and in-person.

To access on-line training, sign in or create an account at https://my.scouting.org and access the “BSA Learn Center”.
