Historic Trail Program Requirements
The Historic Tweetsie Trail Program
The Historic Tweetsie Trail is a rail-to-trail program that currently uses 5.8 miles of the abandoned East Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad, commonly referred to as the Tweetsie Railroad.
The Sequoyah Council is offering a special Tweetsie Trail Historic Award for Scouts and Scouters who complete the following:
- Hike Phase 1 (5.8-mile trek)
- Participate in a historical program at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park in Elizabethton, or the Tipton-Haynes Historic Site (or the Tipton-Haynes House) in Johnson City
- Complete the walking tour of Fort Watauga in Elizabethton
- Complete the Tweetsie Trail Historic Quiz
- Complete the Tweetsie Trail Historic Award Order Form and submit your payment to:
