Historic Trail Program Requirements

The Historic Tweetsie Trail Program

The Historic Tweetsie Trail is a rail-to-trail program that currently uses 5.8 miles of the abandoned East Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad, commonly referred to as the Tweetsie Railroad.

The Sequoyah Council is offering a special Tweetsie Trail Historic Award for Scouts and Scouters who complete the following:

  1. Hike Phase 1 (5.8-mile trek)
  2. Participate in a historical program at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park in Elizabethton, or the Tipton-Haynes Historic Site (or the Tipton-Haynes House) in Johnson City
  3. Complete the walking tour of Fort Watauga in Elizabethton
  4. Complete the Tweetsie Trail Historic Quiz
  5. Complete the Tweetsie Trail Historic Award Order Form and submit your payment to:
